Special Guest: Ted Allen
Ted Allen, the food and wine specialist on the NBC/Bravo hit show Queer Eye, a role for which he won a 2004 Emmy for “Outstanding Reality Program,” is also author of The Food You Want to Eat: 100 Smart, Simple Recipes, an original cookbook featuring easy, all-natural recipes for everything from steak to risotto to cocktails.Ted also appears frequently as a judge on TV on Food Network’s top-rated Iron Chef America and Bravo's Top Chef. In addition, Ted has been a contributing editor to Esquire magazine since 1997. Before joining Esquire, Ted was a senior editor and restaurant critic at Chicago magazine, where he won two writing awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. He also has written for Bon Appetit, Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Epicurious.com, GQ, National Geographic Adventure, Men’s Journal and the Chicago Sun-Times. He is also the co-author of Esquire’s “Things a Man Should Know” column—an irreverent guide on such topics as fashion, business etiquette, and cocktails—and co-author of four books that grew out of that series.

Special Guest Chef: Ginette JordanGinette Jordan was born in Casablanca, Morocco. As one of eleven children, she had many opportunities to help with the family cooking. As she got older, she took on the responsibilities of feeding the entire family. Her abilities in the kitchen became apparent and she went on to make many Moroccan specialties for friends and guests. At age 17, she came to the United States and took up residence in Boston. There she used her culinary experience and began teaching Moroccan cuisine. She traveled extensively in Europe, Israel and in the United States. In 1980, she moved to Austin and continued teaching and catering specialty foods of her native land.

Special Guests: Bruce Weinstein and Mark Scarbrough
Mark Scarbrough and Bruce Weinstein are the creators of the ten-volume Ultimate Cookbook series which began with the smash hit, The Ultimate Ice Cream Book. The eclectic series includes topics like the chocolate cookie, shrimp, frozen desserts and potato. Now with over a quarter million books already in print and their release of their new cookbook in 2007 - The Ultimate Cookbook, a compilation of over 900 recipes - their success appears to have no end in site.Bruce Weinstein’s background began in advertising. While working as a creative director in some of New York’s top agencies, he maintained connections in the food industry connections that took root when he attended Johnson and Whales. While still at the agency, he freelanced to create brands like Lea and Perrins Barbecue Sauce and cocktails for Disney World’s Pleasure Island. This culinary sideline led to his first book, Frozen Drinks With or Without the Buzz, and began his publishing career.
Mark Scarbrough started his professional life as an academic. He did his graduate work at the University of Wisconsin and in 1992 he was hired by St. Edward’s University in Austin. During this time he also took a side position with AOL writing their food content, beginning his food writing career. He eventually moved to New York City to pursue writing full time.
Bruce and Mark are also Contributing Editors to both Weight Watchers Magazine and Eating Well Magazine and write regularly for Cooking Light, Relish, Gourmet, Wine Spectator, Cooking Pleasures, and the New York Times. They do all this in 650 square feet of Manhattan real estate.
