Wrap Yourself in Luxury at Lake Austin Spa Resort's Luxurious 25,000 square foot LakeHouse Spa
AUSTIN, TX - After opening the 25,000-square-foot LakeHouse Spa in 2004, Lake Austin Spa Resort owners Mike McAdams and Billy Rucks completed two multi-million dollar renovations that have transformed the 19-acre property from a pastoral lakeside resort into one of the country's leading destination spas.
Today, guests can choose from more than 100 luxurious spa and salon treatments and healing therapies while experiencing the casually elegant, world-class destination spa which was recently ranked #1 in North America by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler and has also been ranked as one of the country's best by Travel + Leisure, Luxury SpaFinder magazine, American Airlines' Celebrated Living and the Zagat Survey.
The LakeHouse Spa is a destination unto itself. Embracing the charming Texas Hill Country architecture of the region and reflecting the colors and textures of the natural landscape, the facility has 30 treatment areas, including sound-proofed indoor rooms, all equipped with showers and a customized sound system; outdoor treatment porches; private garden courtyards for men and women with tented treatment areas; tandem couples' suites and poolside cabanas where guests may choose to receive massages or other bodywork.
The two-story LakeHouse Spa also features a hair, make-up and nail salon; a boutique; the Aster Café; the Sun Room, a private meeting room for up to 30; the Blue Room, a spacious relaxation area named for its majestic blue walls; and two pools, the Palm Pool for lounging and the Pool Barn, a 4,000-square-foot, free-standing structure which houses an open-air, Junior Olympic-size, indoor pool. The Pool Barn features three large barn doors that roll up and down to allow for a full aquatics program throughout the year. Two acres of terraced gardens with more than 200 species of plants and a koi-filled waterway spill down the hillside toward scenic Lake Austin. Water falls over huge sandstone boulders, splashes down limestone walls and gurgles from fountains. A re-circulating water system feeds the garden's natural aquatic habitat and utilizes bacteria and oxygen for cleaning.
One of Lake Austin Spa Resort's most unique features is its abundant organic Healing Gardens, which produce more than 1,000 species of plants, herbs, fruits, vegetables, spices and wildflowers. Bountiful in antioxidants, vitamins and other healing properties, and free from pesticides and other chemicals, the gardens provide fresh, homegrown ingredients used in many of the resort's spa treatments, as well as in the kitchens.
The LakeHouse Spa at Lake Austin Spa Resort has one of the largest spa facilities and spa treatment menus of any destination spa in North America. The staff consists of more than 80 highly-trained therapists and technicians who offer more than 100 types of therapeutic massages, body scrubs and wraps, baths, facials, healing therapies and salon treatments. Specialty treatments designed for couples, men and teens, as well as traditional East Asian therapies including acupuncture are also available. The LakeHouse Spa's Iris Salon offers a full-service menu of hair, make-up and nail treatments and the Aster Café features fresh and healthy cuisine. Customized packages for bridal parties, family gatherings and corporate retreats are available.
