The Nia Technique is a movement practice that not only offers the cardiovascular benefits of traditional fitness classes, but also encourages emotional expression and engagement to nourish the mind, body and soul.

Joanie is a Nia® 1st Degree Black-Belt teacher, Nia® White Belt and Nia® FreeDanceTrainer, Nia® Moving to Heal and Nia® 5 Stages of Healing Facilitator, RYT® 200 Hour Yoga Teacher, MELT Method® (MELT) Instructor, Laughter Yoga Leader, JourneyDance™ Facilitator, Mindful Change Coach.

Joanie Brooks teaches classic Nia® and Nia® FreeDance classes, as well as Yoga at The Synergy Studio in San Antonio, Texas. As a Sacred Athlete and Somatic Movement Educator with over 25 years’ experience in the healing arts, Joanie desires for everyBody to reach their full potential and live a life of pleasure. Her classes are infused with JOY, and she brings creativity, laughter, compassion and enthusiasm to all her classes.

Joanie also teaches in fitness clubs, corporations, and with breast cancer survivors. She leads Nia® White Belt and Nia® FreeDance Trainings, designed for those who want to teach Nia® or dive deeper into the practice.
