Wise Women | Wine & Charcuterie Author Chat | Embracing Imperfect Paths to Wellness & Recovery | Guest Author Mallary Tenore Tarpley
Location: Treehouse Lake Room
October 21, 2026 5:00 pm
In this special book event, local author Mallary Tenore Tarpley will discuss her new memoir, SLIP. SLIP blends personal narrative and research to illuminate what Mallary calls "the middle place" between acute sickness and full recovery from an eating disorder. It's an apt term for so many of the gray spaces we find ourselves in throughout life, and it's an invitation to embrace imperfections on the journey toward wellness. In the middle place, slips happen but progress is always possible.
Mallary, who is a journalism professor at the University of Texas at Austin and a journalist whose work has been published in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Teen Vogue, and more, will be here to discuss how all of us can recover from any stressful time in our lives and be imperfect in the process. The event will include time for Q&A.
We hope you'll join us for this engaging and inspiring event!
