Tim LaFuente retired from the Austin Fire Department on June 4th, 2011.  He served a total 31 years in the Fire Department.

Over the past 9 years he has kept himself involved with the fire service by taking the position of “Director of Emergency Services” for 1-800BoardUp of Central Texas. 1-800BoardUp is a nationwide emergency response company that delivers victim assistance and structure security at the scene of a fire or natural disaster.

Back in his firefighting days in Austin, Tim  was given the title of “Austin’s Firehouse Chef”, this was due to the fact that he was doing cooking demos at places like Central Market and Whole Foods, and also because he had won the “Best Firehouse Cook” competition for 4 straight years.

Tim loves to come out to Lake Austin Spa Resort and share his culinary knowledge.
