Candyce Welch was first introduced to Mah Jongg in 1973 when her mother brought home a set for her large game loving family of 8.
Candyce is a lifelong lover of games and teacher of her passions.
She taught aerobics and other fitness classes for over fifteen years. She has taught arts & craft classes at Lake Austin Spa Resort for more than ten years and Mah Jongg both privately and at the resort for more than seven years.
Candyce is a purist when it comes to Mah Jongg. She adheres to National Mah Jongg League rules,
preferring not to introduce table rules that simplify the game and reduce the level of challenge.
The complexity of the game is what she is most drawn to.
Her latest passion is tournament play. Always up for a challenge, Candyce relishes the quick pace, enhanced rules and complex scoring utilized in tournaments.

Join us for an hour of playful creative expression with an introduction to modern calligraphy. We will have a brief introduction to modern calligraphy "as compared to traditional calligraphy" where you will learn an easy recipe for creating letters in the modern calligraphy way. The lettering style is a combination of italic print and cursive and achieves its artsy appearance by combining thick and thin lines. We will learn how to create simple graphic florals to create a playful love note – either a note to self or you can give it to someone else. No experience required.
Brush lettering is a style of writing similar to calligraphy. With each letter, heavy pressure is applied on the downward stroke and light pressure is applied with every upward stroke. Because of the use of pressure and the appearance of the letters, brush lettering is commonly known as modern calligraphy.

She attended culinary school in Austin, Texas, and runs her bakery and cooking classes for kids and adults throughout the year. In 2020, Chef Keii was a contestant on the Bakeaway Camp show on the Food Network and trained under “camp director” Martha Stewart, along with baking experts Carla Hall and Dan Langan. Chef Keii’s unique and delicious s’mores cookies were featured on the show and are sold from her kitchen in Austin.

His soulful melodies are reminiscent of the old school country legends, but with a picking style influenced by years of oppression by world class Flamenco and Classical guitar players.
