Our Health & Wellness Protocols

Your health, wellness, and peace of mind are paramount when you visit us at Lake Austin Spa Resort. Read below to learn about the necessary precautions and extra steps we are taking to ensure the wellbeing of our guests and staff.

Our number one priority is the well-being of our guests and employees. Throughout our property and spa, we have enhanced our already rigorous cleaning practices and protocols. With increased frequency, diligence, and great attention to detail, our management and staff will be consistently cleaning the property—especially frequently touched surfaces, such as door handles, public bathrooms, etc. We will use superior high-grade cleaning products with a higher concentration of sanitization and bacteria-killing ingredients. These stringent procedures will include all public spaces on the property and employee-only spaces, kitchens, and offices.

You will also find sanitization stations throughout the property; we encourage you to use them.

We will conduct thermal scan temperature checks daily on all guests, employees at the beginning of their shift, and service providers upon entering the property. If the temperature is above 100.4, those individuals will be asked to leave and seek medical attention immediately.

Yes, all guests and our employees are required to wear a mask. The City of Austin and Austin-Travis County Health Authority require all of our employees and customers to wear a mask. The masks must be worn indoors and outdoors. Exceptions are:

  • You are alone or with your traveling companion or among people of the same household, in a single, separate space. For example, on your private porch or in your room, you are not required to wear a mask.
  • You are eating or drinking.
  • You are outdoors engaging in an allowed activity with social distancing.
  • Wearing a mask poses a safety or health risk.

All our employees are trained in safety and sanitization procedures.

Our employees will be administered a thermal scan temperature before every shift.  If standards are not met, they will be advised to seek medical attention and sent home. Our employees will always be wearing masks.  They will be wearing a color-coded wrist band to signify their temperature has been checked. Appropriate hand washing will be practiced throughout their shift.

As you drive up to the Lake Austin Spa Resort gates, please use the sanitizer on the keypad to sanitize. Press the keypad announcing your arrival. The front desk will buzz you in.

When you arrive under our portico, our Front Office agent will welcome you.

Our agents will be wearing gloves and masks. They will open the door for you and remove your luggage if you so choose. They will discard the used gloves and replace them. Our agents will exercise physical distancing. We will ask you to park your car to follow safety procedures.

Our team will be happy to escort you to your room with your luggage, or if you would prefer to handle your luggage, you can choose to do so.  Again, the agent will be wearing gloves and masks when assisting.

Our front desk associate will usher you into the living room, where a relaxing check-in will occur. A refreshing ‘mocktail’ will be served in the living room. For the most part, guests will not need to visit the front desk itself. However, should there be questions or a need to do so, the front desk will have a protective plexiglass shield for guests’ and employees’ protection.

We are happy to refer you to a local car service that is not affiliated with Lake Austin Spa Resort.

For guests arriving by our very own Luxe Water Taxi service, stringent safety measures will be in place. (For more details on our Luxe Water Taxi, please call 512-372-7300)

When you arrive in your room, you will find a home-made packet containing a mask, and a one-time usable wipe. We will have LASR cloth masks available for purchase in the boutique.

All rooms before arrival, have been defogged with a hospital-grade, non-toxic, anti-bacterial product. Industry-leading cleaning and sanitizing protocols are used to clean guest rooms, with particular attention paid to high-touch items such as television remote controls, toilet seats and handles, door and furniture handle, water faucet handles, nightstands, telephone, in-room control panels, light switches, temperature control panels, luggage racks, and flooring. All high-touch collateral, magazines, menus, and alarm clock have been removed from your room.

Your bedding, towels, and linens are washed at an extremely high temperature in accordance with CDC standards.

Daily cleaning for overnight guests’ rooms is suspended to limit the number of people entering your room. Fresh towels and linens are delivered upon request.

Housekeeping will pass through the Activities facilities and bathrooms several times daily. Activities staff will wipe down thermoses (YETI coolers and thermoses) several times a day when in use and any other equipment used by guests. All classes will begin with a brief intro from the instructor on health, hygiene, and safety.

Physically distancing practices will be observed during the check-in and check-out process. Masks should always be worn inside the LakeHouse Spa.

All specially trained facial estheticians will wear masks and gloves when working on guests. All treatment room surfaces, including the floor, will be sanitized and cleaned between treatments by a therapist and spa attendant.  As you enter your sanitized treatment room, your therapist will carefully wash their hands and provide each guest with anti-bacterial wipes to cleanse their hands. After completing your treatment, you will be offered an immune-boost juice drink.
